London Front Garden

by

Set in an exclusive street in Chiswick, the brief for this front garden was multi-faceted. We needed to create a contemporary space that was also sensitive to the period features of the street, whilst also adhering to some of the strict styling guidelines of the boundaries. Most of all, we needed to create a front garden that still felt like a secluded retreat.

Bespoke hardwood joinery was crafted on-site out of Iroko hardwood to form the boundaries with an inner surround of 2.1m high evergreen jasmine screens. A multi-stem specimen Acer is the focal point of the space behind the contemporary bench and large-format Grey Yorkstone paving has been laid to increase the feeling of space and avoid the fussy nature of lots of joint lines. A subtle lighting scheme really sets this garden apart from the others on the street at night and makes it a functional space for evening entertainment for what is a very sociable neighbourhood.
